The museum is home to an extensive collection of ancient Egyptian antiquities.
It was built by Saladin El Ayouby - the founder of the Ayyubid Dynasty- towards the end of the 12th century. Here You will see Mohamed Ali Mosque (The Alabaster Mosque). It is one of Egypt's most interesting mosques. It stands on the highest point inside the Citadel of Saladin's courtyard.
It suppose to be the oldest church in Cairo. Its name, Al-Muallaka (the hanging), was given to it since it was built on the ruins of two old towers belonging to an ancient fortress known as the Fortress of Babylon. It was dedicated to The Virgin Mary and St. Dimiana. It takes the shape of a basilica with a wooden roof resembling that of Noah's Ark.
which is one of the oldest Coptic churches in Egypt. The Church was built in the 4th century and was probably finished during the 5th century.
